With this win, the Australian captain Pat Cummins joined an elite list of Australian captains to lift the prestigious silverware, for a record-extending sixth time. India put 240 runs on the board in 50 overs. Australia finished the chase in just 43 overs.
Pat Cummins Received A Cold Reception At Australia’s Airport
However, as Cummins flew back home after the memorable win, he didn’t receive a rousing reception as one might expect for a World Champion. Yes, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazelwood, and Shaun Marsh exited Gate B of Sydney Airport’s International Terminal to be welcomed by an ’empty airport’.

In the video, Cummins could be seen carrying his own bags on a trolley, a few photographers are seen clicking his pictures.

The scene at the airport starkly contrasted what Indian cricketers would have experienced on returning back home had they won the cup on the foreign soil.
