Talking about his workfront, the talented cricketer was last seen in action during the 2022 edition of the Ranji Trophy, where he led the Mumbai team to the final. However, Shaw’s side lost all the important summit clash against Madhya Pradesh and ended as the runners-up in the tournament.

Before the Ranji Trophy’s 2nd part this year, Shaw featured in the 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League for Delhi Capitals. During IPL 2022, Shaw was hospitalised due to typhoid and because of the same he had to miss two weeks of action. He didn’t have a memorable IPL season and could only manage 283 runs in 10 matches.

Shaw’s previous appearance for the Indian cricket team came on the Sri Lanka tour last year. Prithvi along with Suryakumar Yadav, was flown to England for a part of the Test series against the hosts but he didn’t get an opportunity. He was dropped from the Test side after the England tour and has been away from the national side since then.

Since then, he has been overlooked by the national selectors. There were also a few questions raised over the fitness of the player after he failed to clear the yo-yo test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) ahead of IPL 2022.
