Who can forget the famous “STARE-OFF” that took place between Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav during an IPL 2020 league fixture between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore? The moment gave chills to the fans of both sides. It happened during the second innings of the match when Virat Kohli went toward him as a way of playing mind games with the batter who was looking in great touch with the bat.

But instead of losing his patience, Yadav managed to keep his composure and looked Virat Kohli right in the eyes confidently without any lapse. Not only Suryakumar Yadav managed to take his side home with his sensational performance but was also praised for keeping calm during the tense situation.

But why we are talking about the famous incident now? Well, recently during an interactive session with the ESPNcricinfo, Suryakumar Yadav was asked who would win a staring contest between himself and batting megastar Virat Kohli and another one between pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, and, the Caribbean all-rounder Kieron Pollard.

Ponting picks Suryakumar Yadav for key batting position in India's T20I side

While SKY might have only known Virat well in the last couple of years but he knows Jasprit Bumrah and Kieron Pollard really well, considering that the trio has been an integral part of the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. While choosing between Kieron Pollard and Jasprit Bumrah, SKY said Bumrah would come out on top in a staring contest. However, while picking between him and Kohli, SKY thought for a while before he said: “ME” after which he had a hearty laugh.

Meanwhile, the middle-order batter is in some sensational form off-lately. He continued his red-hot form in ongoing India’s white-ball tour to New Zealand by smashing his second T20I hundred in the second T20I. He is currently a part of the Indian squad for the ongoing 3-match ODI series. Now after conquering the shortest format, SKY is all set to cement his place in the ODI side ahead of the 2023 World Cup.
