ICC Test Rankings: India remain at top while Pakistan drop down no. 4 position

India are the number 1 Test team in the latest ICC Test Ranking. Before the start of India’s long summer season, India and Pakistan were neck to neck in the rankings table, but by whitewashing New Zealand and then winning two of the first three Test and drawing one.

India, as per the latest ICC Test rankings, is the number 1 Test team in the world with 115 points. England, even after trailing in the series are at number two 105 points, followed by Australia with 105 points. Pakistan is at number 4 position with  102 points.

Not long ago, Pakistan were the number 1 Test team and the ICC mace was presented to them. Pakistan, who had entered into the series with 109 rating points, dropped as many as seven points due to the series loss. They were defeated by eight wickets in the first Test at Christchurch and subsequently succumbed to a 138-run loss at Hamilton. On the other hand, New Zealand have gained five points from the series victory to move to 96 points and shade Sri Lanka on decimal points for the sixth position.
