The news of Gautam Gambhir has stunned every KKR and IPL fans and it isn’t just the officials who are being shown their rightful place but the players too who may have to face the music during his reign.

Being a fierce advocate of young players and also some serious talent as we have seen in his first stint with KKR and now as a coach with Lucknow Super Giants, it may very well be a possibility that a few of the players may get the go ahead to show their true flair after brilliant displays in the earlier seasons.

Here are three players who may get a boost if Gautam Gambhir joins the Kolkata Knight Riders.

#1 Rinku Singh

Needless to say but this youngster has already proven himself to be an absolute mainstay in the KKR squad and his continued brilliance in the preceding season allowed KKR to fight back despite finding themselves in the choppiest of waters. He was a value addition to the side and the kind of cricket that he played would inspire future generations to follow the hard work. If GG joins KKR again, Rinku Singh may get a promotion too.

#2 Shreyas Iyer

Iyer was unavailable for KKR in IPL 2023 but it is expected by the time 2024 comes, he would return to the helm. The kind of displays that he knitted together in 2022 saw him becoming the livewire of Kolkata’s exploits. Albeit the Knights falling short, Shreyas waged a single handed war and is expected to return from injury for the next IPL. Gambhir recognizes talent and out of all the players Iyer may be a part of the side as more important moniker alongside being the captain that he is already is.

#3 Suyash Sharma

The young leg spinner may not have found himself exactly in the good books of the team but he did impress with his fine spin. With Varun Chakravarthy drifting in and out of form, Suyash Sharma may be the next big turner that KKR may already be eyeing. With Gauti in the mix, he may turn into one of those sharpest weapons that the Knights have been missing for a while now.
