“If I was Babar, I would get hold of that guy…” – Wasim Akram Slammed Babar Azam Over Viral Dressing Room Video

Pakistan cricket team narrowly managed to enter the semi-final match in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 after they defeated Bangladesh by four wickets in their final game of the Super 12 stage. There were no hopes left for Pakistan, however, South Africa’s defeat against the Netherlands opened the doors for the Babar Azam-led side.

Meanwhile, a video of Babar Azam has gone crazily viral on the internet, where he can be seen giving a pep talk to his players asking them to continue their positive approach in the semi-finals as well. The video went viral after the game against Bangladesh, however, it was not received well by Wasim Akram.

Former Pakistan pace bowler Wasim Akram feels that such videos should be kept private and shouldn’t be shared on social media. He also lashed out on Babar Azam and said that if he was the captain of the side, he would get hold of the person recording such videos. He said:

“f I was Babar, I would get hold of that guy who is making a video. Sometimes, certain things are personal. I am all for social media, players interacting with their fans and everything. But I have not seen any other team do it in this World Cup? So yeah, the urge to get extra numbers (followers, likes), cut it down. This is too much,”

He added: “There are recordings taking place all the time. Imagine if I am sitting and not knowing that someone is recording – a message that I want to give my team. Just tell him, ‘Guys, relax for two days. Do it some other place but not the dressing room,”

Pakistan will face New Zealand in the semi-final at Sydney on Wednesday, November 9. If they win, they will face either India or England in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
