Pakistan cricketer Iftikhar Ahmad has slammed a social media user that propagated false information regarding his remarks about the Indian cricket team.

Well, a few days ago, a Twitter user shared a Tweet falsely attributing a quote to Iftikhar, where the Pakistan batter had compared the Indian players to street children. The fabricated quote read:

“Whenever we face India, it’s as if we’re playing against street children.”

The Tweet went viral and the quote sparked outrage from the Indian fans, who slammed the Pakistani batter left, right, and center.

However, it turned out that Iftikhar Ahmad never made that statement. He took to his Twitter and refute the claim. He called out the user for spreading wrong information and for promoting hate.

In his Tweet, Iftikhar also appealed to Elon Musk to ban the account responsible for the misleading post. He wrote:

“I’ve been made aware of this statement which I’ve never made. In fact, no professional cricketer will make such a statement. Please stop circulating false news & report this individual for spreading hate.
@X @elonmusk please ban this account as people are misusing the blue tick.”

Talking about his professional front, Iftikhar is currently playing in the Lanka Premier League, representing the Colombo Strikers. Iftikhar Ahmad has established himself as one of Pakistan’s most popular cricketers. He was a part of all three India vs Pakistan clashes last year and even smashed a fine fifty at the T20 World Cup, albeit in a losing cause.

Iftikhar has been named in Pakistan’s 2023 Asia Cup squad. India and Pakistan will be neck to neck with each other in the Asia Cup 2023 on 2nd September at Kandy in a high-voltage clash.
