Hardik Pandya has been in a rich vein of form in 2022. A blockbuster IPL 2022 season paved way for his comeback to the national side and since then he’s been in a dream form, not only charting up personal milestones but also scoring runs consistently.

On Tuesday in Mohali, against Australia, Hardik Pandya went on and registered his best score in T20Is for India.

At the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Hardik Pandya remained unbeaten on 71 off 30 balls, his super-charged innings comprising 7 fours and 5 sixes, and helped India finish with a big total of 208.

This, 71*, is now Pandya’s highest score in T20Is, bettering the 51 off 33 balls he scored in a match-winning cause against England in Southampton in July.

It is quite an astonishing fact that Hardik Pandya had made his T20I debut in 2016 and not scored a single fifty till last year. Both his T20I half-centuries have come in 2022. Of course, earlier he was chiefly a finisher but now has been batting at number 5 for India.

Hardik Pandya highest scores in T20I full list:

39* (17) – v/s England at Ahmedabad (2021)

35* (13) – v/s Afghanistan at Abu Dhabi (2021)

India started off the home series against Australia with a bang as the batters walloped the visiting bowling attack for 208 runs in the first T20I on Tuesday in Mohali.

After KL Rahul’s 55 and Suryakumar Yadav’s 46, India’s innings was given a late boost by Hardik Pandya’s blistering knock. He came in to bat in the 12th over and plundered 71 runs off only 30 balls, propelling the team total to over 200.
