The exciting Border-Gavaskar Trophy series commences between India and Australia on February 9 in Nagpur. The second Test will be played in Delhi followed by the third Test in Dharamsala, before the series concludes in Ahmedabad.

Currently, ahead of the upcoming 2023 India-Australia Test series in India, it is India who is the holders of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, having won the last three Test series between the two teams – in 2017 in India, followed by two historic series triumphs in Australia in 2018/19 and 2020/21.

It has been reported by the Times of India that the Prime Minister of both countries, the Indian PM. Narendra Modi and the Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will be in attendance for the fourth and final Test of the series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The fourth Test of the series at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, is scheduled from March 9 to March 13.

IND vs AUS: PM Modi and Australian PM to attend the Ahmedabad Test

Interestingly, this will be the first time that PM Narendra Modi will attend an international game at the Narendra Modi Stadium after it was refurbished and had its name changed from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Stadium. The Narendra Modi Stadium, after its name changed and restructured to become the largest cricket stadium in the world capacity-wise, hosted its first international game in 2021.

Team India has arrived in Nagpur, the venue for the first Test, and started their preparatory camp, while Australia landed in Bangalore earlier this week and have begun their practise there.

Talking about the strength of the two teams, both sides will be missing some of their key players. India will be without Rishabh Pant for the entire series -and the entire year – while Shreyas Iyer is expected to join the squad from the second Test. There are still doubts about Jasprit Bumrah, who may join the squad from the third Test.

The visitors to are dented. Mitchell Starc has been ruled out from the first Test due to a finger injury, and Cameron Green, the all-rounder, is told not to bowl in the first Test due to a finger injury, so he may too be benched in Nagpur.

India’s squad for the first Test against Australia:

Rohit Sharma (capt), KL Rahul (vc), Shubman Gill, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, KS Bharat (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), R Ashwin, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Suryakumar Yadav
