IND vs BAN: 10 Best Memes After India’s Loss In 1st ODI vs Bangladesh

An incredible, even unbelievable, 10-wicket partnership of 51* runs from 41 balls between Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman saw Bangladesh win a low-scoring thriller and take a 1-0 lead in the 3-ODI series against India on Sunday in Dhaka. Mehidy scored 37 off 30 in this partnership with Rahman scored 10.

A game of great, nail-biting ups and downs, twists and turns ended with Mehidy Miraz being held on the shoulders of his teammates for his terrific feat while batting with number 11, Mustafizur Rahman.

Chasing 187, Bangladesh were in cruise control at 128/4. And then happened the collapse which made this match so exciting, and even put India as firm favorites as the hosts slipped to 136/9. In a matter of 28 balls, Bangladesh lost 5 wickets for only 8 runs and looked done and dusted.

With little to lose now, Mehidy Hasan started swinging for the fences, and missed a few, but those he connected well and into the gap hurt India. The Indian bowlers bowled poorly, bowling short to Miraz while stump-to-stump could have done the trick. It was also baffling from the Indian captain, Rohit Sharma, to allow Miraz take a single on the 5th and 6th ball of the over to keep the strike on multiple occasions.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was also given a lifeline by KL Rahul, wicket-keeping in this game instead of Rishabh Pant, who has been released from the squad for unrevealed reasons. With the target still 32 runs away, Miraz top-edged Shardul Thakur, but KL Rahul dropped a simple catch, which later on proved costly for India.

As Miraz found boundaries one by one, and the target got closer, it was the Indian team that panicked and let the game slip from their grip.

Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan’s five-wicket haul along with Ebadot Hossain’s four-fer restricted India to 186. KL Rahul waged a lone battle with a 73-run innings. In the defense the Indian bowlers were brilliant until they weren’t. These were absolute scenes at the Shere Bangla National Stadium.

Netizens on Twitter too went wild, hailing Mehidy’s temperament while lambasting India’s.

Fans trolled the Indian team brutally with hilarious tweets and memes following their loss to Bangladesh in 1st ODI
