IND vs BAN: Fans Hail Rohit Sharma’s Brave Knock After He Comes Out To Bat With Injured Hand

Indian captain Rohit Sharma injured himself while fielding in the 2nd over of the 2nd ODI match between India and Bangladesh at Dhaka on Wednesday. Rohit was fielding at second slip and the outside edge flew quickly to him off the bat of Anamul. Mohammed Siraj was the bowler and he thought he had almost dismissed Bangladesh there but unfortunately, Rohit ended up dropping the catch, and to make things worse, he even hurt his thumb in the process.

The visuals of Rohit suffering the injury weren’t too beautiful as blood poured out of his thumb and he was immediately taken off the field. After an hour after his injury, the BCCI provided an update on the injury, saying that Rohit has gone for the scans and further updates are awaited. BCCI wrote:

“India Captain Rohit Sharma suffered a blow to his thumb while fielding in the 2nd ODI. The BCCI Medical Team assessed him. He has now gone for scans.”

However, even after suffering the thumb injury, Rohit Sharma came out to bat after India lost their 7th wicket against Bangladesh in a run chase of 272 in the 2nd ODI.  He came out to bat at the fall of the seventh wicket and played a sensational knock of 51 runs off 28 balls to take India closer to winning. He came in with India struggling at 207/7 in the 43rd over and from thereon he started smashing the Bangladesh bowlers to boundaries and sixes even if two wickets fell at the other end. The Indian side required 20 off the 6 balls with just one wicket in hand. Rohit brought it to 6 needed off the last ball however, Bangladesh pulled off a thrilling win.

Though, Rohit Sharma failed to chase down the target but his innings ended up winning a billion hearts. Check out the reactions of fans to it:
