Veteran Indian keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik hailed Rohit Sharma for his brave knock against Bangladesh during the second One-Day International against Bangladesh at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Wednesday, December 7. Rohit Sharma won everyone’s hearts with his determination and commitment to the country as he walked out to bat with an injured thumb and stole the show with his gritty knock.

Rohit Sharma injured his thumb while fielding at the slips during Bangladesh’s innings. He was immediately taken to the hospital for scans and didn’t take the field for the rest of the innings. He also didn’t open the innings for India as Virat Kohli was the makeshift opener along with Shikhar Dhawan.

However, as India was struggling badly while chasing the target of 271 runs, Rohit walked out to bat at no.9 in the 43rd over of the game with an injured thumb and scored a blistering unbeaten 51* off 28 deliveries. Rohit Sharma nearly pulled off an incredible win for the Indian side, however,  his efforts went in vain as the Men in Blue endured a tough five-run defeat.
