Team India’s young opener Ishan Kishan produced a sensational performance in the ongoing third and final ODI of the series against Bangladesh on Saturday. He became the youngest and the fastest player to score a double-hundred in the ODI format of the game. Ishan etched his name in the history books as he became the fourth Indian and seventh batter overall to score a double century in the ODI format.
Ishan Kishan was added to the Indian squad as the replacement of Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who suffered a thumb injury in the 2nd ODI match against Bangladesh. Ishan Kishan made the most of the chance given to him as he slammed a stunning double hundred to help the Indian side recover after the early wicket of Shikhar Dhawan along with Virat Kohli.
He formed an amazing partnership with Virat Kohli, who played the role of the second fiddle. Together, the duo smashed the Bangladesh bowlers to all the corners of the ground. The stylish youngster reached his double century in just 126 balls with the help of 23 fours and 9 sixes. He reached his maiden ODI hundred in 85 balls and then took 18 balls to reach 150 and then 23 more to reach the double hundred.
The youngster also shattered the world record of Chris Gayle as he became the fastest to reach this milestone.
