India’s Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara registered his first Test century in almost four years on Friday (December 16) in the ongoing first Test match between India and Bangladesh at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram. This was also is also the fastest century of his Test career. He smashed the Bangladesh bowling attack to reach the triple figure in just 130 balls. His unbeaten knock of 102 included a total of 13 boundaries as he showed no mercy to a struggling Bangladesh bowling attack after the Indian cricket team took a 254-run lead in the first innings.
Pujara’s last century came against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on 2nd January 2019. Meanwhile, Pujara isn’t the only Indian player to have scored a hundred in the second innings. Opening batter Shubman Gill also reached the triple-digit score, registering a knock of 110 off 152 balls.
