IND VS ENG

IND vs ENG: Fans Started A Meme Fest After India Lost The 5th Test Match

IND vs ENG: Two distinct records that England registered on Tuesday in Edgbaston: they chased down their highest successful target and this was also the highest successful run-chase vs India in Test cricket.

378 was never a daunting task for England; in fact, they were ready to go after any target that was presented in front of them. As Man of the Series Joe Root said afterwards, they were confident of gunning down anything after the surreal trio of success in run chases vs New Zealand last month.

🇮🇳🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 HONOURS SHARED! Thank you @englandcricket for an iconic Test series.

👊 On to the T20I series!

Alex Lees and Zak Crawley rumbled to the fastest century opening stand by English openers but India restored parity with three quick wickets. Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow, though, stood firm and barely gave a chance to India – Bairstow edged to Hanuma Vihari at slip early in his innings but Vihari dropped the catch and there was nothing given to the Indian players after that.

IND vs ENG Test Series Ended With A Draw

Root and Bairstow both brought up their respective hundreds – they have combined hit 11 centuries in 2022; this was Bairstow’s fourth in three Tests and Root’s fourth in this series alone.

119 runs were needed at the start of play on Day 5 and India would have hoped for a miracle to keep their hopes alive of winning their first series on English soil since 2007. However, it was all but over in the first hour itself as not only India’s didn’t find any wicket, Root and Bairstow motored along nicely and briskly scoring 65 runs in the first hour; the game was done by 90 minutes in the morning.

England, who had looked done and dusted when India were leading the series 2-1 as the visitors were overwhelming favourites to win in that Old Trafford Test, have turned their fortunes, their game and quite possibly Test cricket in a space of four Tests with four epic run-chases.

India will continue to rue another opportunity missed; India now have lost their last three overseas Tests – two earlier in South Africa – all failing to defend totals.

As usual, mems galore on Twitter after India’s thumping loss despite having their noses ahead for most of the game.

This Test should be the last for some of the passengers. The management/selectors gotta wake the fuck up!

Virat Kohli’s performance was one of the biggest disappointment of the test…I really like the fact that he is facing the bad times on the pitch just like he faced his good times…but the point is how long… how long will bcci wait @BCCI

Bowlers got a pasting in second innings but India’s defeat IMO was failure of top order to make use of good batting conditions in second innings and put match beyond England. Draw would have meant a series win. Gill, Vihari and particularly Kohli didn’t pull their weight

India won more sessions than England. Tells you what a poor performance it was by Indian batters in second innings and what England did with the chase.

Also throws Steve Waugh’s theory out of window where he said the team that wins more sessions wins the test match 🙂 #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/CVTgfVgTlT
