IND vs NZ: The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium saw some incredible hitting yesterday. The Men in Blue made quick work of New Zealand’s big total of 208. Fans expected a close game, but the Indian batters had other ideas. They turned a tough target into an opportunity to showcase their aggressive batting style. This big win gave them a 2-0 series lead and broke several records along the way.

India’s Fastest Successful Chase of 200+

India set a new record for the most balls left over in a successful 200-plus run chase by a full-member nation. The Men in Blue chased down 209 in only 15.2 overs, leaving 28 balls on the table. This beat the previous record Pakistan set in 2025. In that game, Pakistan finished their chase against New Zealand with 24 balls left.

Ishan Kishan took charge right from the start. He smashed the fastest T20I fifty by an Indian player against the Black Caps. The left-hander got to fifty in just 21 balls, beating the record Abhishek Sharma set only two days ago. He finished with 76 off 32 balls, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Incredible Run Rate in a High Chase

No team has ever chased down a 200-plus target this fast. The Indian batters kept their run rate above 13.6 runs per over throughout the whole game. Because they kept scoring so quickly, the required rate was never a problem. They made a difficult total look easy.

SKY’s Big Return to Form

Suryakumar Yadav answered his critics with a true captain’s performance. He stayed not out on 82 from just 37 balls. This was his first T20I fifty since 2024, finally ending a dry spell. He hit boundaries whenever he wanted and kept the chase steady after the openers got out. India’s T20I captain demonstrated to everyone why he remains a top player in this format.

This victory kept India’s great run in home T20 series going. The team secured a solid 2-0 lead and showed once again how tough they are to beat on home soil in this format. The win in Raipur reinforced just how much talent India have. Even huge scores weren’t enough to stop their batting lineup.
