The Indian cricket team thrashed New Zealand by 65 runs in the second T20I at Mount Manganui to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series. Team India was asked to bat first and found themselves in a spot of bother when they lost Rishabh Pant early. However, Suryakumar Yadav walked out with all guns blazing and took the game by storm. SKY was promoted to no.3 and he did justice to Kohli’s position as he registered his 2nd T20I century.
SKY played yet another blistering knock for the Hardik Pandya-led Indian cricket team as he smashed the Kiwi bowlers to all the corners of the ground. He played a terrific knock of 111 not out off 51 balls, which was laced with 11 fours and seven sixes. Suryakumar was also named the Player of the Match for his batting masterclass.
Moments after the match, Suryakumar Yadav started trending across all social media platforms, with several cricketers and experts also joining the fans in hailing the brilliance of the sensational batter.
Meanwhile, an old tweet from Rohit Sharma has gone insanely viral on the internet, which dates back to 2011. In his old Tweet, Rohit predicts Suryakumar to be one of the players to watch out for in the future. He wrote: “Just got done with BCCI awards here in chennai..some exciting cricketers coming up..Suryakumar yadav from Mumbai to watch out for in future!”

Following the mind-boggling inning, Suryakumar Yadav said in the mid-innings interview on Prime Sports: “In T20, a hundred is always special but at the same time, it was really important for me to bat till the very end. Hardik was telling me to bat till the 18th or 19th over, and get to a score of 185 or so.”
He continued:
“After the end of the 16th over, we had a chat about taking it deep. It was important to maximize the last few overs. Have been doing the same things over and over again, in the nets and it’s just coming off for me.”
