IND vs PAK: Amit Mishra Trolled England’s Barmy Army ‘Like A Boss’

The biggest cricketing rivalry in Asia and perhaps in the world, India and Pakistan will resume on Sunday as both the Asian giants will square off at the MCG in Melbourne for their Super 12 opener of the T20 World Cup 2022.

12 months ago, Pakistan had thrashed India by 10 wickets in their encounter during the 2021 T20 World Cup in Dubai. That was the first-ever victory of Pakistan over India in all cricket World Cups. India will be aiming to have their revenge and kick off their T20 World Cup 2022 campaign with a blockbuster win, and so will Pakistan.

The England and Australia rivalry is also a well-known one, but it is mostly in Test cricket, and while their fans are passionate whenever the two teams meet in ICC events, it still doesn’t have the fan craze – in fact nowhere near – as that of India-Pakistan.

Nonetheless, England’s Barmy Army, a fan group of the England cricket team, tried to rile up the Indian and Pakistani fans when they downplayed and didn’t acknowledge the India-Pakistan rivalry on Twitter.

“What’s an India vs Pakistan Never heard of it,” wrote the Barmy Army Twitter handle.

Veteran Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra, who has been really active on Twitter this year, didn’t miss this opportunity to not only give a perfect reply to the Barmy Army’s tweet, but also brutally trolled the English regime back in the first half of the 20th century that divided India into India and Pakistan.

“Creating a problem and then forgetting it.. typical English behaviour,” Amit Mishra tweeted. Mishra’s tweet went viral in quick time and fans had a good chuckle at his sense of humor and the truth bomb he dropped.

Meanwhile, a day before the big encounter, India captain Rohit Sharma spoke at length about the advantages of arriving in Australia 20 days before the Pakistan game. Rohit said the time spent so far has helped his players acclimatize better to the Australian weather and conditions.

“That’s something we’ve been talking about for a while, like when you go on big tours, you need to prepare well, especially when you travel outside India. You need to have time in hand to prepare the way you want to prepare, because it takes time,” Rohit said.

“A lot of the guys are not used to playing in foreign conditions, be it Australia, South Africa, England, New Zealand, and all those countries. It’s always nice to have time in hand, and this was a conscious effort from the team management, the BCCI, that come the big tournament, we want to have time in hand to prepare ourselves. The talk of having time in hand started right after the last World Cup,” the skipper revealed.
