IND vs PAK: Young India A and KKR seamer Harshit Rana took a one-handed blinder while jumping like Cristiano Ronaldo to dismiss Pakistan A batsman Qasim Akram in the mouth-watering clash in the ongoing ACC Mens Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka.
Youngsters of the two arch-rival teams met face-to-face on Wednesday at the R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for this exciting clash; both India A and Pakistani A have won both their matches so far in the tournament, so the winning streak for one team was coming to an end today
Pakistan A captain Mohammad Haris won the toss and opted to bat. Pakistan A, also called Pakistani Shaheens, were bowled out for 205 as India seamer Rajvardhan Hangargekar took a stunning five-wicket haul. For Pakistan, number 7 batsman Qasim Akram top scored with 48.
Qasim Akram’s innings was cut short in the 46th over of the innings courtesy of a magnificent one-handed stunner from Harshit Rana, who recently played for KKR in the IPL 2023.
It was a short ball from Hangargekar, who was bowling from around the wicket, and the ball went on with the angle away from the right-handed Qasim Akram, who slashed at the short-ish delivery. The ball took a thick edge of the bat and was flying over Harshit Rana, who was fielding a short thirdman.
However, Harshit Rana showed his athleticism at his best, jumping in the air like Ronaldo does, and put his right hand out in line of the ball. The ball got stuck in his hand and even as he fell down on the ground, Harshit Rana didn’t let the ball leave his hand, completing a sensational, mind-blowing catch.
