India are going to treat Pakistan as they treated Afghanistan, the India captain Rohit Sharma has fired a sound warning for the Babar Azam-led side ahead of their epic clash in Ahmedabad.

Both teams are two victories in two matches heading into the Ahmedabad clash. Pakistan defeated the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in Hyderabad; India defeated Australia in Chennai and thrashed Afghanistan in Delhi.

While the Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has managed only 15 runs in 2 knocks, Rohit Sharma, who bagged a duck against Australia, blasted 131 runs in 84 balls against Afghanistan.

Following India’s 8-wicket win in Delhi, Rohit Sharma was very clear in revealing his team’s plans and mindset for the Pakistan game.

Rohit acknowledged that there is big hype for any IND vs PAK contest. But he said the players will be treating it as another game, giving no heed to social media hype.

“We are looking at Pakistan just like we looked at Afghanistan, nothing else. We will treat every match like that. We will see how the pitch plays, conditions and combinations etc,” Rohit Sharma said.

This comment from Rohit Sharma on IND vs PAK has gone viral, and this is how fans reacted to it:

Rohit was in a belligerent mood against Afghanistan as he kick-started his onslaught from the onset of his innings. He reached his half-century in 30 balls and his century in 63 balls. This is now the fastest ODI World Cup century by an Indian batsman, breaking Kapil Dev’s record of 72 balls in the 1983 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma now has 7 centuries in the ODI World Cups, the most number of centuries of all-time, surpassing Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 6 World Cup centuries. He also now has hit the most number of international sixes, breaking Chris Gayle’s tally of 553 sixes.

Speaking about his innings, Sharma said: “It was a good pitch to bat on, just backed myself to play my natural game. I knew once I got my eye in, the wicket was going to get easier for me. Something that I have been working on from a long time. It’s a special feeling to get a World Cup hundred. Really happy with that. “
