While the other players of the Indian cricket team were sporting a jersey with tri-color stripes on their shoulders, Kohli’s jersey had three white stripes. It was evidently visible that Kohli was not wearing the same kit as the other players who came onto the field for the national anthem following the toss.

It has to be noted that while the normal Indian ODI kit has 3 white stripes, a special one has been made for the World Cup in which the white stripes have been replaced by the tri-color stripes. However, Kohli was wearing the kit with three white stripes.

Kohli soon realized his mistake mid-match and he had to rush back to the dugout to change the jersey. After some time, he was back in action with the crowd cheering him on. The hilarious incident has gone viral on the internet, check out some pictures and reactions of fans:

Talking about the game, the Indian cricket team decided to bowl first, keeping the dew aspect in mind. Pakistan made a solid start with a 41-run partnership between Imam0ul-Haq and Abdullah Shafique.

Mohammed Siraj gave India their first breakthrough by getting the wicket of Shafique, who had scored a century in the last game against Sri Lanka. And ever since then there has been no turning backs for the Indian bowlers. Pakistan was eventually bowled out on 191 runs.
