IND vs SA: Monty Panesar Says Virat Kohli Can Lose His Place

India’s Test captain Virat Kohli will be under a lot of pressure when he will lead India in the first Test of the South Africa tour. There has been a lot of drama off the field and Virat Kohli has been the main character of it, as there seems to be a rift, or lack of communication between Virat Kohli and the BCCI.

But, despite all the unnecessary action that has taken place off the field, every Indian cricket fan wants to see Virat Kohli back in form and score daddy hundreds for his team in the purest form of cricket i.e. Test cricket.

IND vs SA: Monty Panesar Says Virat Kohli Can Lose His Place

Virat Kohli hasn’t scored a hundred in more than two years and his fans are getting very anxious and waiting desperately for him to get that rabbit off his back by making a thumping comeback in the Rainbow nation.

Former England cricketer Monty Panesar also believes that Virat Kohli is under tremendous pressure and he needs to score a lot of runs in the Test series against South Africa.

Speaking to ANI, Monty Panesar said that if Kohli fails to perform in the Test series, his position might be “up for the grabs”. He also added that the Indian captain knows how to get the best out of himself.

“I think he will be very motivated because he knows that if he does not score a lot of runs in Test cricket then that position could be up for grabs as well. So, he is under pressure to perform but he needs to do well and actually get some wins and even India are winning and he does not score the runs that still is a positive for Virat Kohli because he knows how to get the best out of an individual.”

Monty advised Kohli to keep all the off-field debates aside and focus only on his cricket, because winning a Test series in South Africa is far more than what the BCCI wants from him.

“So, he needs to put that aside now and think about how to win in South Africa which is far more important and that is what I BCCI wants from him. He wants to get the best eleven out there to win this Test series,” said Panesar.
