India’s middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav produced a stunning knock in the 2nd T20I match of the series against South Africa as he wreaked havoc with the bat and smashed the South African bowlers to all the corners of the ground. SKY broke records as he smashed the ball around the mark to score an 18-ball half-century in Guwahati. 

Walking out to bat at number 4, Suryakumar Yadav smashed 5 fours and as many sixes en route to his blazing knock, scoring 61 off just 22 deliveries before being run out by Temba Bavuma. 

Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav formed a formidable partnership, after the quick dismissals of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who gave a brilliant start to the Indian innings. Virat and SKY joined the hands and started smashing the SA bowlers from the word go. All thanks to their performances, the Indian side posted a total of 237 runs on the scoreboard, which is the highest ever a team has managed to score against Proteas.

While Surya was seen in his natural attacking mode, on the other hand, Virat played second fiddle. After SKY’s dismissal, DK provided a perfect finish to the game as he remained unbeaten on 17 off 7 deliveries, smashing four and two sixes. Virat also remained unbeaten on 49.
