Former Indian captain and batting superstar Virat Kohli is hailed as the modern legend of this game however above that he is a team man. Time and again, Virat has impressed everyone with his selflessness on-field. Another example of this was witnessed during the Guwahati T20I between India and South Africa on Sunday (October 2) at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.

Well, the incident took place during the last over of India’s innings, when Kohli was just one-run short of his fifty and fans were eagerly waiting for the batting star to register his half-century. However, Kohli put the team first ahead of his personal milestone as he was spotted telling Dinesh Karthik to continue hitting the South Africa bowlers and not think about giving him the strike.

The video of this incident has gone crazily viral on social media, with fans left in awe of him. Virat Kohli’s gesture has earned him a lot of praise which led to him missing a record-extending half-century.

Talking about the game between India and South Africa, the game turned out to be a visual treat for the fans as the Indian batters wreaked havoc against the South Africa bowlers. After being asked to bat first, the Indian cricket team had a dreamy start with the bat as they put a massive total of 237 runs on the scoreboard, which is the highest-ever a team has managed to score against Proteas.

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul gave a blockbuster start to the game as they added 96-runs in the opening stand.  While Rohit played a solid knock of 43 in 36 balls, it was Rahul who stole the show by making 57 runs in just 28 balls. Both the cricketers were dismissed in quick succession. But then came the magical stand between Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli.

While Surya was seen in his natural attacking mode, on the other hand, Virat played second fiddly. Both the players smashed the South African bowlers to all the corners of the ground and took the score of the Indian side to a huge total.
