IND vs WI: Indian cricket fans were left disappointed after West Indies thrashed team India by 4 runs in the first game of the ongoing 5-match series at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. With this win, the Windies have taken an early 1-0 lead in the series.

West Indies Won The 1st IND vs WI T20I Match

As the game started, West Indies won the toss and opted to bat first. Opener Brandon King gave them a blistering start and smashed a quick-fire 28 runs but Yuzvendra Chahal gave a much-needed breakthrough to team India. Chahal came into the attack in the 5th over and removed Brandon and Kyle Mayers in the same over.

Nicholas Pooran then tried to bring back the balance to his side by smashing the Indian players all around the park while playing a stunning 41-run knock off 34 balls. Captain Rovman Powell also played a crucial knock and ended up scoring 48 runs. Windies posted a total of 149 runs on the board.

For team India Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh were the pick of bowlers.

Later, while chasing the target, the Indian cricket team made a poor start as the openers — Shubman Gill (3) and Ishan Kishan (6) failed to fire-up and were dismissed early in the game. Suryakumar Yadav looked uncomfortable at the crease and he scored 21 runs off 21 balls.

Young Indian player Tilak Varma, who was playing his debut match, stole the show with the bat. He scored 39 runs off 22 balls but was dismissed in the 11th over. Hardik Pandya (19) along with Sanju Samson (12) too failed to take the team home. Arshdeep Singh gave some hope to the Indian fans, however, Windies won the game.

Meanwhile, as West Indies defeated India in the first game by 4 runs, fans took to their Twitter to express their disappointment. From cricketers and experts to fans, everyone took to social media and reacted to the defeat.

Quite a mess up that of a standard chase, whatever the slowness of the pitch.

Solid performance by @windiescricket! That over by @Jaseholder98 took it away from #TeamIndia! The men in blue will come back stronger in the next one 💪🏾💪🏾

Good to see SuryaKumar Yadav preparing for Asia cup & World Cup by playing ODI in T20, gone for 21(21) 👏

I'm convinced we can't play both Yuzi Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav together. Need a bowling All Rounder at no. 8.
