India Might Be Travelling To Pakistan For The ICC Champions Trophy 2025

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to be hosted by Pakistan. However, the topic of attention has been whether India will travel to Pakistan to play in that tournament. India hasn’t travelled to Pakistan since 2006 and have not played a bilateral series with Pakistan since 2012/13. The Indian government’s stance has been clear that till Pakistan stops funding cross border terrorism, there will not be any talks of going to Pakistan or playing a bilateral series with them.

India refused to go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 and instead proposed for a hybrid model. India’s matches were played in Sri Lanka and the final was also held there. Now, reports are coming out that India have proposed the same hybrid model for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

However, BCCI’s vice-president, Rajiv Shukla, has cleared out that the BCCI has not proposed for any hybrid model and the rumours are not true. Earlier, Shukla had stated that till the government gives permission, the BCCI can not decide anything.

“We do not know which source gave such information. BCCI has not put out any official information regarding this,” he said.

Pakistan have proposed that India will play all their games in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Lahore with the final scheduled at Lahore as well. Other reports have stated that if the Indian government does not give permission to the Indian Cricket Team for touring Pakistan for the event, the ICC will replace India with Sri Lanka.

There will be lot more reports coming out regarding the matter. As of now, everyone awaits for the next ICC meeting that will be held in Sri Lanka. It will be worth noting if India does travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
