“India Should Accept That He Is Not A..” – Danish Kaneria Lashed Out At Rishabh Pant

The ongoing debate between Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson has become the hottest topic in the cricket fraternity. As the debate continues to rage on, several cricketers and experts are hopping on this debate with their opinions on this matter. While both the young keeper-batters are fighting for a place in India’s playing XI, the BCCI seems to be persisting with the experienced Rishabh Pant over the in-form Sanju Samson and the same hasn’t gone down well with the fans and experts.

A lot has already been said and written by the commentators and experts on the matter and now the latest one to join the ongoing debate is former Pakistan batter Danish Kaneria, who has launched a fresh attack on first-choice gloveman – Rishabh Pant.

Rishabh Pant eclipses Dhoni with magnificent ton, leads India to ODI series win | Cricket - Hindustan Times

Rishabh Pant once again failed to fire for the Indian cricket team in the 3rd and final ODI match of the New Zealand series. He could only register scores of 6, 11, and 15 in the three innings he batted. Earlier, during the T20 World Cup 2022, he scored 27 against South Africa, 3 against Zimbabwe, and 6 in the semifinal against England. While he continues to struggle in the white-ball format of the game, on the other hand, Sanju played an impressive knock in the 1st ODI before the wicketkeeper-batter was overlooked by the Indian think tank for the rest of the series.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Danish Kaneria lashed out at Rishabh Pant for wasting chances. He said:

“India should accept the fact that Rishabh Pant is not a white-ball cricketer. They have tried him at every position in the order, just so that he can score runs. But what about Sanju Samson? Did he do anything wrong by scoring 36 runs?,”

He added: “From fans to former players, everyone has expressed displeasure over this. All this is very demoralizing for Sanju Samson, as he is being treated like an average cricketer,”
