India is on a song and is winning matches after matches. But it’s more than evident that the middle order is in a mess and if the top 3 were not to score runs then India’s middle order would make a mess out of things. There’s been a lot of experimentation going on in the middle order and none of them have really clicked.

Make Rohit Play In The Middle Order

India Should Try These Experiments Ahead Of 2019 World CupYes, you heard it right. That’s what we’re saying. If India brings Rohit Sharma to the middle order and try a different opener then India’s middle order woes would be solved to a large extent.

But then what are the options India has if Rohit is to play in the middle order? We’re not doubting Rohit Sharma’s potential for sure but given how experienced and talented he is, he seems a perfect answer to the middle order woes.
Here are the opening options beyond Rohit Sharma

1. KL Rahul

Of course he comes first in contention. KL Rahul is young and largely talented. He’s a proper opening batsman and is technically very sound. His inclusion in the playing XI could be a great move looking at the 2019 World Cup.

2. Ajinkya Rahane

Ajinkya Rahane is the other tried and tested opener. Rahane is an amazing player and he’s any day better opening the innings rather than coming in the middle order. Ajinkya Rahane has been decently successful while opening for India and he’s the second obvious choice.
3. Rishabh Pant

This wicket keeper batsman is knocking the doors of the Indian team time and again. Pant is an explosive batsman and very talented. He would make a destructive opening pair along with Shikhar Dhawan and flying starts would become so frequent.
So, after seeing these options, are you convinced that Rohit should play in the middle order to make the middle order more stable?
