India vs Australia 2017: Murali Vijay hits back at Glenn Maxwell for mocking Kohli’s injury

India vs Australia 2017, Third Test, Ranchi: India’s opener Murali Vijay dismissed Glenn Maxwell mocking Virat Kohli’s shoulder injury as a “sportive thing”. Vijay, while talking to media after Day 3’s play, said that Team India is focused on the game and their only goal in to win the match. He added that they are aware of all the activities in a sporting way.

“To be honest, we are really focussed on our games, we have a match in hand so we have got to go close to their target and these are the things running in our heads in the dressing room. All the players are aware of it and whatever they are doing, we take it as a sportive thing and they have the second innings so hopefully they can take it that way it will be great.”

Responding to a question over Kohli’s form in a news conference, opener Vijay said:

“He’s a world-class player and to judge any player on two or three innings is unfair, I feel. It’s just a matter of time for him to get back in the runs and I think it will be sooner rather than later.”

Vijay batted well in the first innings and scored 82 runs. After India lost KL Rahul’s wicket, Vijay formed a solid 100 plus partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara for the third wicket.
