India vs Australia 2017: Virat Kohli makes another DRS blunder

Virat Kohli’s struggle against Australia in the ongoing 4-match Test series continues as he failed yet again in the first innings of the ongoing second Test at Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore.

Kohli batted for 17 balls and scored 12 runs. He smashed a couple of boundaries and looked fluent but one good delivery by Nathan Lyon got better off Kohli. Once again, Kohli made an error in judgement and showed arms to a straight delivery.

In the 34th over, Lyon bowled a simple off break but instead of playing a forward defensive stroke, Kohli went back and left the ball thinking it would go down the leg stump.

India vs Australia 2017: Virat Kohli makes another DRS blunder

A strong appeal was made by Australians and the on-field umpire gave it out. Initially, Kohli looked a bit amazed and he asked for a review. But the repay clearly showed that the ball was hitting the middle and leg and the on-field’s umpire stayed.

In the first Test, Kohli was criticised for his poor DRS calls and this would only accelerate the bandwagon. Kohli is a world class batsman and he has time and again proved that he is one of the best, across all three formats of the game, and this is probably the reason why he gets more criticism than any other player in the team.
