India vs England 2016: Joe Root almost hits KL Rahul on his helmet

There was a heated moment in the middle in India’s first innings of the ongoing fifth Test when England’s batsman Joe Root, who bowls a bit of off-spin, was bowling and threw the ball straight at KL Rahul, who was at the batting end.

It happened when KL Rahul played a defensive stroke off Root’s bowling and Root threw the ball to wicketkeeper and almost hit Rahul on his helmet on the way. Rahul had to react immediately and get out of the way. Root’s throw was way off the target and the good thing was that Rahul was looking at Root and was able to get out of the way.

Joe Root hurled it at a furious pace and at a low height, very close to KL Rahul’s head and away from the stumps. KL was forced to take evasive action and was clearly miffed at the strange outburst from Root. Rahul didn’t like it one bit and gave a good long look to Root and also said a few things to Root, who raised his hand in apology. Later, they exchanged a friendly gesture and the play resumed.
