India vs England 2016: KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya released from India squad

India’s opening batsman KL Rahul and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have been released from the squad for the ongoing Test series against England. KL Rahul, who made a comeback to the team after missing the first Test due to a hamstring has been released and  is expected to be back for the Mumbai Test starting on the 8th of December. India’s Test skipper Virat Kohli has already said that KL Rahul is India’s first-choice opener in Test cricket alongside Murali Vijay and he will straightaway make his way into playing XI as soon as he is fit to play. Rahul picked hamstring injury in the first Test against New Zealand and since then he has been working hard to get fit. He also played a Ranji Trophy match for Karnataka before he was recalled for the second Test of the ongoing series between India and England.

Hardik Panyda’s selection raised many eyebrows but he wasn’t pick for the first three Tests and now he has been released from the squad due a shoulder injury. Hardik Pandya has sustained an injury to his right shoulder while training with team in Mohali and hence has been released from the squad. Hardik Pandya didn’t get a game but being a part of India’s Test squad must have given a lot of confidence. Pandya started his career as a limited-overs cricket specialist, but his quick call to the Test squad has sent a signal that the selectors are willing to experiment and promote the young talent in India to Test match level.

India are 1-0 up in the series with third match in action and two more to go after this one. India gave a brilliant performance in the second Test in Vizag and defeated England by a massive margin of over 200 runs.
