Rajkot to witness DRS system for first time in India.

India have always opposed the use of Decision Review System (DRS) in bilateral series. When India used DRS for the first time against Sri Lanka, results didn’t come in their favour and they started opposing saying the technology is not 100% correct.

But in an interesting move, BCCI agreed for the use of DRS in the 5-match Test series against England. The first Test of the series will be played on November 9 at Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA), and SCA will become the first ever venue in India to use DRS.

“Decision Review System (DRS) will be implemented during the Test match in Rajkot,” Niranjan Shah, SCA honorary secretary was quoted as saying in a official press release issued by the SCA.

“Though it would be on trial basis, this will be first ever bilateral test with all components and technology of the system including the ball tracking system being used during the match as well as the series,” Niranjan Shah said.

The first Test of the five-match Test series between India and England, will be an important match as England would look to start well and India on the other hand, would be eager to start on a winning note after what happened the last time England toured India for a Test series. Virat Kohli led Team India started the home season brilliantly by whitewashing New Zealand in the three-match series. Many cricket pundits believe that hosting England for the five-match Test series will be the toughest job for India in this home season. England are a strong side and India would be very wary of them after how the performed the last time.
