India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli along with power hitter Suryakumar Yadav unleashed the beasts inside them as they rattled Netherlands’ bowling unit. Their partnership helped India post a challenging total of 179 runs against the Netherlands on Thursday.

The Rohit Sharma-led Indian side was off to a slow start to their innings before SKY and Kohli provided a much-needed acceleration to the innings as both the players registered their fifties and remained unbeaten.

Before the match started Sharma decided to bat after calling it right at the toss for a second straight time. However, the Indian side started on a worst-possible note as they received an initial setback in the form of opener KL Rahul who departed with just nine runs off 12 deliveries. Rohit Sharma then formed a partnership with Virat Kohli. 

The duo took time but soon they unleashed their explosive shots and made the opposition toil hard for wickets.  Rohit roared back to form with a solid 50. He and Kohli stitched a 73-run stand for the second wicket. While Hitman was hitting some stunning shots, Kohli was playing the role of second-fiddle to him. After his dismissal, Virat Kohli took care of the scoring rate. And there he got good support from SKY.

Yadav scored 51 off 25 balls, while on the other hand, Kohli ended with  62 off 44 balls. Both men compiled 95 runs off 48 balls in the ongoing game against the Netherlands. They have made it a habit to come together for big partnerships.

After the match, Suryakumar Yadav hailed Virat Kohli for his stunning form and also talked about his partnership with him during the post-match presentation. He said: “I’ve enjoyed batting here, enjoyed that partnership. When I went inside, Virat bhai just said keep batting the way you have been batting, so I just expressed myself. Good to see everyone come here and support us, my wife is also around so that’s a great support as well. The wicket is a bit two-paced, it is a good score to defend.”

He added: “He has been batting amazingly, he has just stuck to his routines and processes. I’m really enjoying batting with him,”
