Indians fans are very excited to see their young opening batsman KL Rahul back in action, in the upcoming Test series between India and Sri Lanka. Rahul, who missed out on playing the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 because of a shoulder injury, is a very bright young talent, who many believe will play a big role for India in all three formats of the game, in the coming years.
But, there is a bad news coming from Sri Lanka that KL Rahul did not travel with the Indian team to Galle from Colombo because he is down with a bout of fever.
As per a news report published on Sportskeeda.com, Rahul had a high fever on Sunday and he stayed back in Colombo for some medical tests. It was also stated that all the reports came out to be negative, but still Rahul’s participation in the first will depend on how quickly he regains his 100% fitness level.
Rahul is a very technically correct batsman who is more than capable of changing gears and adjusting his game of the need of the situation. He also has the ability to make quick technical adjustments to match the requirements of different formats of the game.
Earlier, KL Rahul’s opening partner Murli Vijay was ruled out due to an injury and Shikhar Dhawan was announced as his replacement.
It is very important for India that KL Rahul quickly regains his fitness and get ready for the first Test of the series. Rahul was one of the best performers for Team India in the grand home season 2016/17 where he scored six half-centuries in seven Test innings against Australia.
In the first tour game, KL Rahul got much needed match practice and he scored a good looking half-century.
