Poor selection of batsmen, the inability of making the middle-order stronger and the improper selection of ‘number 4’ player, were some of the flaws of the team and the most talked-about points throughout the tournament. However, for BCCI, the biggest concern post the conclusion of the World Cup is the rift between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. And as per sources, BCCI is also keen on to adapt the idea of split captaincy.
According to a report by IIANS, a BCCI functionary said that the men in blue need to start preparing for the upcoming campaigns now. India should follow the footsteps of England, who started their preparations for World Cup 2019 after exiting the 2015 edition.

As per reports, while Virat Kohli will continue to lead the Indian cricket team in Test matches, Rohit Sharma will take the charge of captaincy in limited-overs matches.
The functionary said, “This would be the right time for Rohit to take over the mantle of the captaincy in the 50-over format. There has been immense support to the present captain and the management and it is time to plan ahead for the next World Cup and for that the existing ideas and plans need a fresh look. We all know some areas need a relook. Rohit would be the right man for the job.”
However, more than the split captaincy, it is the rumored split between the two batsmen, which has become a matter of concern for the BCCI. The whole matter will be discussed in the review meeting which is slated to take place with coach Ravi Shastri, captain Kohli and chief selector MSK Prasad in the presence of the Committee of Administrators (CoA).
The functionary said: “You are aware that Vinod Rai (CoA chief) has already mentioned that a review meeting will take place. This will have to be ascertained when the review takes place and it is important to get to the bottom of these rumors,”
