The stage is set. The helmet has been flicked. The camera is reeling from the back. India is wobbling and Sri Lanka moves another wicket closer to world cup triumph. The number 7 of India started coming out of the dressing room. In a long walk to the middle, he raised hopes of a hundred crore people, telling them separately that it isn’t over unless he calls it over. The telling blow came from his very bat when he swung the bat in a frenetic fashion to consign the delivery to the stands and India was the champion of the world after a hiatus of 28 endless years.
We are talking about MS Dhoni. A man who has changed the course of Indian cricket so significantly over the years that it feels like a revolution.
However, the man who portrayed this incredible human being on the silver screens, left us in an untimely demise as Susanth Singh Rajput committed suicide in his Bandra flat.
The man who drew stark comparisons to Dhoni when he walked out in the middle was at the top of his career as he kept on playing roles which were singular and needed a lot of acting prowess to rivet the audience.
However, his rendition of MS Dhoni left everyone speechless as from the back, it seemed like, Dhoni had a guest appearance in the movie.
With his passing away Bollywood has been left with an unfathomable void and we all will reel from this agonizing news for quite some time. However, given his due connection with cricket, even cricketers paid their tribute to this young actor-cum-philanthropist who won several hearts through his marvellous acting.
