Indian Cricketers Posted Heartfelt Messages After Air India Flight Crashed In Calicut

In a shocking incident yesterday, at least 17 people were killed after an Air India Express plane with 190 people on board from Dubai skidded off the runway and fell into a 30-feet valley, broke in two while landing at Kerala’s Kozhikode amidst heavy rain. There were 174 passengers, 10 Infants, two pilots, and four cabin crew members on board the aircraft. Two pilots of Flight IX-1344 were killed.

However, a greater tragedy was averted as the plane didn’t catch fire. Emergency services personnel were seen working in the dark and spraying the wreckage with water.
The rescue operation is still underway as people from every corner of the country are wishing for the safety of the passengers. Social media is flooded with posts, expressing their disappointment over the tragic incident and wished for the safety of everyone. Several cricketers also took to their social media and shared their condolences over the same. Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar wrote:
“Praying for the safety of everyone onboard the #AirIndia Express Aircraft that’s overshot the runway at Kozhikode Airport, Kerala. Deepest condolences to the families who have lost their near ones in the tragic accident,”
