India’s tour of Sri Lanka 2017 will be remembered as one of the most one-sided demolition in Sri Lankan cricket history. It started with 3-match Test series, in which, India outplayed Sri Lanka in all three departments of the game and became the first touring side ever to whitewash Sri Lanka at home, in Test cricket.
After a demoralising defeat in Test series, Sri Lankan cricket fans were hoping for a better show by their team in One Day International (ODI) series. But, the story repeated itself. Apart from Akila Dananjaya, who took 6 wickets in the second ODI, no other Sri Lankan cricketer stood and lost the first four matches of the series.

In the fourth ODI, something unusual happened on the field as two girls came out to give drinks to Indian cricketers. Usually, drinks are carried by extras on the bench. But, Sri Lankan cricket did something unusual by sending two ladies with the drinks in the middle.
The incident happened during the second innings when India were defending their mammoth total of 375. Initially, the players also looked a little confused as this has never happened during an international cricket match before.
India’s Yuzvendra Chahal and Ajinkya Rahane came out running with drinks but they were also accompanied by two ladies who were dressed in blue and white.

According to a report published on crickettrolls.com, a Sri Lanka Cricket official has revealed the reason behind Sri Lankan Cricket board’s decision.
“Ground must look beautiful,” the board officials were quoted as saying by the Daily Observer.
Bhairav Shanth, the Co-founder of the ITW – the event management company overseeing the match in this series, said that they wanted to do ‘something new’.
“We wanted to do something new to the old tradition and this idea struck to us.”
Interestingly, the same approach was followed in the fifth match.
