The cricket fraternity erupted after New Zealand cricketer Kyle Jamieson shattered his team’s record by dismissing the Indian skipper Virat Kohli and young keeper-batsman Rishabh Pant in quick succession on Day 3 of the ongoing World Test Championship final at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
The Indian skipper was India’s stand-out player on Day 2 as he went on to score 44 runs off 124 deliveries and stayed unbeaten at the crease. The skipper was expected to leave a mark with his performance, however, he was soon dismissed on 44 runs without adding any run on his overnight total.
The dismissal took place on Kohli’s eighth delivery of the day after the skipper was dismissed by an in swinging delivery from Kyle Jamison and the ball smashed his pads. Impressed by the appeal, the on-field umpire raised his finger and Kohli’s stay on the field came to an end. Kohli even challenged the decision of the umpire and went upstairs however the review clearly showed the ball hitting the stumps, eventually making the captain to walk back to the pavilion.
Meanwhile, as soon as the Jamieson dismissed Kohli, the pacer’s Instagram posts were flooded with nasty and abusive comments from the Indian fans. There were many who called-out the Kiwi all-rounder for not doing ‘justice’ to his RCB skipper.
