Before the start of the most-awaited Test series – Border-Gavaskar Trophy, several fans and experts made predictions about the outcome of the series. India were handed a shocking defeat in the first Test as they got bundled on a mere 36 in their second innings. India, though, made a strong comeback in the Boxing Day Test match. They did a splendid job in all the departments, registering an easy win. Ajinkya Rahane, the stand-in captain, was awarded as Man of the Match for his sensational century in the first innings.

This victory made many predictions go wrong. The commentator, Michael Vaughan, also predicted India’s defeat in the first Test. He predicted India to lose all the four matches and get whitewashed in the series.

India are set to play the third Test from 7th January in Sydney. Both the teams will look to win the match and get the lead in the series. India will be looking to continue their winning form whereas Australia will be planning to make a strong comeback.
