During his early days, India’s swashbuckling batsman Yuvraj Singh was one of the athletic fielders in the world. From taking stunning catches to effecting unbelievable run-outs, Yuvraj Singh made fielding a “glamorous” job in Indian cricket. Yuvraj, along with Mohammad Kaif, inspired budding cricketers to work on their fielding and started a new and a much needed trend of ” good fielders” in Indian cricket.

Today, with the likes of Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and others, India are one of the best fielding units in the world and a lot of credit goes to Yuvraj Singh for starting this trend.

In the video shared above, Yuvraj Singh, playing for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL), gave one of the unbelievable fielding performances on a cricket field. Mumbai Indians needed 2 runs off the last ball. Yuvraj jumped in the air to grab the ball and dived a long way to dislodge the stumps.

The entire stadium erupted with joy as they witnessed one of the most spectacular pieces of fielding on a cricket field ever. This outstanding effort by Yuvraj Singh reminded us of the great Jhonty Rhodes.
