IPL 10: Kevin Pietersen pulls out of 2017 auction

Kevin Pietersen has withdrawn out of the 2017 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. Kevin Pietersen tweeted that he won’t be going into the IPL 2017 auction as he wants to spend some time with his family. Kevin Pietersen stated that he had a very hectic domestic season and he doesn’t want to spend April/May away from his family too.

“FYI- I won’t be going into the IPL auction. My winter has been too busy with all amy travel and I don’t want to spend April/May away too!”

Kevin Pietersen, who is popularly known as KP, played a dual role in the recently concluded season of the Big Bash League. Pietersen was part of the Melbourne Stars unit, that reached the semifinals of the competition, and finished the competition as the 8th highest run-getter, with 263 runs in 8 games at a strike-rate of 128.22. And he also did commentary in some of the matches.

Pietersen played for Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) in the last season of IPL, but he was released ahead of IPL 2017 auction. KP has played for 4 different IPL franchises so far; Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2009, then representing the Deccan Chargers, the Delhi Daredevils and finally the Rising Pune Supergiants.
