IPL 2016: Shaun Tait joins KKR as John Hastings’ replacement

Kolkata Knight Riders have added Shaun Tait to their squad according to the franchise’s CEO Venky Mysore. Knight Riders had lost John Hastings due to an ankle injury last month. Mysore posted an image of the Australian fast bowler on the social media website Twitter on Wednesday.

Shaun Tait has played 21 IPL matches in the past – all for the now suspended franchise Rajasthan Royals. He picked up 23 wickets at an average of 27.82 and went for a little over 8 runs per over.

This will be Tait’s second stint in the IPL, having earlier played for Rajasthan Royals. Tait last played for Australia in January, in the T20I series against India. He subsequently played for Peshawar Zalmi in the inaugural Pakistan Super League. Tait was also recently signed as an overseas player by Glamorgan for the second half of their NatWest T20 Blast campaign.
