IPL 2017: Big News Coming In From SRH Camp

The defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will enter the playoffs without their most experienced bowler Ashish Nehra. SRH’s coach Tom Moody announced that Nehra won’t feature in the remainder of IPL 2017, on Wednesday.

“Ashish Nehra won’t be fit for the remainder of the tournament,” he told media in an interaction on the eve of the IPL eliminator clash between Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders at Chinnaswamy stadium.

Nehra suffered a hamstring strain during a league match against Rising Pune Supergiant on May 6th and he hasn’t fully recovered since then. Nehra’s absence will hurt SRH because he is a very experienced IPL bowler and he also mentors their young bowling attack very well on the field.

However, SRH have found a good replacement for Ashish Nehra in the form of Mohammad Siraj. Siraj made impressed one and all with his match-winning performance in a must-win match against Gujarat Lions to qualify for playoffs. Siraj took 4 wickets in the game.

India’s veteran all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is also struggling with injury but he hasn’t been ruled out yet. While talking about his fitness, Tom Moody said that he will be undergoing a fitness test before the qualifier against Kolkata Knight Riders.

“Yuvraj will be undergoing a fitness test this evening. We will be giving him obviously the opportunity to prove his fitness,” he said.

Yuvraj scored 243 runs in 11 games this IPL, had sustained an injury to his fingers against Mumbai Indians and missed the crucial game against The Gujarat Lions.
