MS Dhoni once again proved that he has everything one needs to be the best finisher in the game. In the league match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MS Dhoni batted like a champion and stunned the big crowd at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, which is located in the heart of the Bangalore city.
On the back AB de Villiers’ magic in the middle, RCB posted a huge total of 205 runs and their fans were hoping that their team would be able to defend it and they finally add more to their tally on the points table.
But, it wasn’t to be.
Ambati Rayudu led the charge initially and kept scoring runs all around the park, and did not let RCB bowlers exert pressure. He scored at a very brisk rate and smashed some huge sixes off Washington Sundar.
But wickets kept tumbling from one end until MS Dhoni arrived to the middle. The CSK captain walked out with a very positive and aggressive frame of mind and opened his account with a huge six over long on off Pawan Negi’s bowling.
The partnership between Rayudu and Dhoni kept flourishing as all the best bowlers of RCB completed their allowed quota of 4 overs each. Dhoni, being the super smart cricketer he is, knew that if CSK negotiate without losing a wicket with the best bowlers, they will later get many chances off lesser bowlers.
And that is exactly what happened.
Rayudu and Dhoni targeted Pawan Negi and Corey Anderson and kept the match under a check until the last ball was bowled. However, there is a bit of scare when Rayudu got run out but MS Dhoni kept his cool, as always, and smashed the winning six.
