IPL 2019 : Twitter Erupts As TNPL Sensation Varun Chakravarthy Gets Sold For The Highest Amount Thus Far

The much awaited and anticipated IPL 2019 auction went underway today at Jaipur and it turned out to be very surprising for the fans. A total of 123 overseas players from 12 different countries and 228 Indian players, were featured in the auction.

There were many surprising names sold for whopping amounts, on the other hand, there were many big names that went unsold. However, the name that has left everyone stunned is of Varun Chakravarthy, the TSNL star player who has been roped in at the highest amount thus far.

Varun has been picked by the Kings XI Punjab at a whopping price of INR 8.4 crores. He has outplayed everyone with the price he was bought in.

Talking about Varun, the 27 year old cricketer hails from Tamil Nadu and had started cricket as a wicket-keeper-batsman but then at the age of 17 he decided to become a bowler. After sometime playing as a pacer, he changed his course spin bowling, which eventually proved to be a full-time occupation.

The journey of this cricketer has been very inspiring, he has been bowling for KKR, CSK and Mumbai Indians last year and since then, he has impressed everyone with his spin bowling. Now he has finally been picked in a team and that too at a whopping amount of 8.4 crores which is 42 times more than his base price. Yes, you read that right.
