IPL 2020: 4 Overseas Players CSK Should Pick For The Opening Match

IPL 2020 is just a few weeks away, as BCCI has reportedly planned to conduct the tournament in the UAE from September 19. Kings XI Punjab will start as the favorites to win the competition because they have a 100% win record in the UAE. Also, Glenn Maxwell has an excellent history at the venues in the country. 

Speaking of KXIP, they began their UAE campaign with a resounding win over CSK. The MS Dhoni-led franchise would be keen to perform well in IPL 2020. However, they might miss their South African star Faf du Plessis due to lockdown issues in the opening fixture. Here’s how CSK’s overseas lineup may look like for the first game. 

Shane Watson

Luckily, Shane Watson will manage to make it to the UAE. The Australian team will likely tour England for a series in September. However, since Watson has retired, he will be available to play in IPL 2020 in the first week. 

Imran Tahir

IPL 2020: 4 Overseas Players CSK Should Pick For The Opening Match

Another foreign player who will be luckily available for CSK is Imran Tahir. The South African players will not make it to UAE in the first week, as per recent reports. However, Tahir is in West Indies right now, prepping up for CPL 2020. He will in excellent shape for IPL 2020.

Former IPL Purple Cap winner DJ Bravo will be gearing up to play in IPL 2020. There are no significant restrictions in the West Indies, meaning that Bravo will join the team in advance before IPL 2020.

BCCI may not have chosen it as a venue because of the time zone issues, but New Zealand’s spin bowler Mitchell Santner will make the most out of the conditions in the UAE when he turns up for CSK in IPL 2020.
