IPL 2020 Auction: Pat Cummins, the Australian cricketer has set the IPL 2020 auctions on ablaze. The IPL 2020 auctions have kickstarted in Kolkata earlier in the day, with several cricketers from around the world about to grab big paycheques this year.
Pat Cummins created history by becoming the most expensive overseas player. Pat Cummins has become the second most expensive player after Yuvraj Singh. With the base price of Rs. 2 crores, has been sold to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs. 15.5 crore in the IPL 2020 auction in Kolkata.
Cummins is a kind of bowler, who hardly drops in intensity. Currently, he is one of the leading wicket-takers in the world. He is known for giving it all whenever he steps on the top cricket field.
Talking about his previous seasons of the Indian Premier League, he was picked up by Mumbai Indians in 2018’s edition of IPL, however, he couldn’t play because of the injury he faced that ruled him out of the tournament.
During the auctions, Royal Challengers Bangalore started bidding for the Australian seamer, thereafter Delhi Capitals also joined and started bidding fiercely for Cummins. But Kolkata Knight Riders snapped him for a mammoth INR 15.5 crores.
Royal Challengers Bangalore looked very desperate to pull in the seamer in their tweet, thus, they put in a bid of INR 15 crore after which the Capitals backed out. RCB then hit back with a bid of 15.25 crores, but KKR sealed the deal with a bid of 15.5 crores.
