IPL 2020 Auction: Twitterati Are Trolling Mushfiqur Rahim For Going Unsold: Mushfiqur Rahim’s sad IPL story continues Bangladesh batsman Mushfiqur Rahim remains unsold for the second consecutive year despite having decent outings recently.
None of the franchises looked interested when Rahim’s name was called out at a base price of Rs 75 lakhs, which resulted in the wicketkeeper-batsman going unsold for another year. The 32 years old blistered a fine 96 run knock in the Bangladesh Premier League for the Khulna Tigers. This innings must have raised his hopes to be selected by any IPL franchise needing a quality wicketkeeper-batsman, but the team management had other plans.

The Bogra based batsman reportedly pulled out of the auctions earlier but was again drafted back only to go unsold. in IPL 2020 Auction. It was not only Rahim who faced sheer bad luck on Thursday, but other big names like Hanuma Vihari, Martin Guptill and Adam Zampa also landed on the same ship. Whereas Glenn Maxwell, Pat Cummins, and Sheldon Cottrell found instant buyers.
Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders were expected to go for this Bangladesh batsman but none of the owners even bother to consider the slightest possibility of hiring him at such a low price tag. About a month ago Mushfiqur Rahim handed India their first t20 loss to Bangladesh with a brilliant inning at the Arun Jaitely stadium, Delhi.
Rahim has been Bangladesh’s skipper in the past and has enough experience in the toughest situations. In the 77 twenty20 internationals, Rahim has scored 1138 runs at a poor average of 19.96. However, his white-ball expertise is evident in 6100 runs he has scored for his country.

Many fans trolled Mushfiqur on Twitter. Some teasing him for going unsold and some recalling the ‘naagin dance’ celebrations. A certain section also empathized with the batsman for missing out for consecutive years.
However, there is no official statement made by Rahim. He will hope to have a decent season at the BPL.

Disappointed that Mushfiqur Rahim received no bids. Maybe he’ll get a team in round 2. Massive potential. Impactful player. #IPL2020Auction

Bangladeshi wicket keeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim went unsold in IPL Auction but on the other hand Australian wicket keeper-batsman Alex Carey sold for 2.4 crore. If Mushfiqur Rahim would play for Australia, England or South Africa maybe he would be sold. pic.twitter.com/9u5T7aQqK7
